Pre-school Room

How we support progress...

At Merton Pre-School, all the key people observe your child through play in order for them to see how your child is developing.  When your child has achieved something new (we call a wow moment) then this is recorded. The record takes the form of a photo or your child's own work.  

The key person then assesses your child once your child starts, after 4 weeks of the child attending.  After this, the key person will assess them every 12 weeks.  The key person uses the Early Years Foundation Stage to assess what your child has achieved.  

All the data from all of the pre-school assessments are then compiled together once every term. As a team, we reflect on what the children have achieved, and what we need to work on in order for the children to achieve in the future.
